Not a class and not a milonga. A shared training space.
Learning tango doesn’t happen only in class, and not every practice leads to growth.
The Focused Práctica offers a relaxed space where dancers of all levels can explore specific topics of their dance in a safe and supportive space, revisit class material (regardless of where they learn), and receive guidance.
These sessions help dancers:
💫 develop confidence dancing with different partners
💫 refine technique through mindful repetition with feedback
💫 integrate musicality, timing, and dance floor navigation
💫 learn new moves from each other and experiment to create their own
Many beginners find that this supportive environment accelerates their learning, and improvers often find the hidden cause that prevents them from executing some moves comfortably and fluently.
No partner required. You’re welcome solo, with a dance partner or friends.
There’s plenty of space available for everyone to work on what they choose, either circulating in Ronda or on the spot without disturbing each other’s process.
You’re welcome to:
💫 Work individually or in pairs
💫 Practice the role(s) of your choice (most regular attendants do both)
💫 Work on material you’re learning, regardless of where you learn
💫 Explore technique, connection, musicality, navigation, movement quality… any topic of your choice
💫 Share respectful constructive feedback and ask for guidance if questions arise
💫 Have fun
It’s not required to attend Jessica’s classes to join, the Focused Prácticas are open to all backgrounds.
Here you can expect:
💫 A welcoming, respectful atmosphere
💫 Space to focus without pressure
💫 Support if questions arise
💫 Freedom to choose what you want to work on
Socializing and exchanging feedback with others is welcome. Consent and respecting each other’s process is the base.
When Jessica is traveling, the Focused Prácticas are hosted by Justina, who’s been taking part in the Tango & Movement Pedagogical Path training.
Bring good vibes and an open mind to co-create a welcoming space for all.
All levels are welcome. Don’t be shy to join regardless of where you are in your tango journey. If you’re totally new to tango, you’re welcome to join and learn basic moves from the other participants.
