A clear path to the Tango dance floor

I won’t lie to you: learning Tango Argentino is a long-term journey.
The good news? The reward is proportional. And there are ways to get on the dance floor sooner than later.

There’s a reason why so many people who try different dances end up staying with Tango Argentino.
It offers something rare: Freedom within structure. The ability to create your own dance in real time, with another person, to the music, within a collective dynamic.

There’s an uncomfortable truth though: Many dancers start by learning steps, and sooner or later feel that something is missing.
Connection doesn’t always work, musicality feels unclear, dancing depends too much on memorized steps…

So they start searching. Across classes, teachers, styles… trying to piece things together.

That path can take many years, I know, I went through it.

Over time, combining Tango and other movement disciplines, I found a way to connect the missing pieces and built a teaching method that helps dancers progress with clarity, gain ease and develop improvisational skills sooner, saving them time without sacrificing depth.

Instead of focusing on memorizing steps, we work on the elements that allow you to actually dance:

✨ Body awareness and coordination
✨ Space and timing
✨ Connection and communication
✨ Musicality as a physical experience, not just theory

Spoiler alert:
This approach may feel different at first, especially if you’re used to copying steps.

But it creates something essential: a dance that works beyond the classroom, with different dance partners and under different dance floor conditions, saving you time in the long run.

What you can expect when learning Tango with me

If you thought you’re born with two left feet, here you’ll prove otherwise.

Your first class might feel so simple you wonder if you’re actually learning to dance.

Remember: This is not the fastest way to collect memorized steps but a reliable way to build a dance you can trust.

After a few weeks, many dancers notice:
✨ Better coordination and awareness of how their body works
✨ More clarity in their steps and transitions
✨ Improved connection with different dance partners
✨ A growing sense of musical perception
✨ It starts feeling like dancing!

After a few months:
✨ Less need to “think ahead” while dancing
✨ Movements becomes more fluid and adaptable
✨ You start making choices instead of following pre-made patterns
✨ Social dancing feels less intimidating
✨ You’re part of a community that welcomes new members with the open arms that welcomed you

Our Tango learning path

Discover the Tango Argentino Fundamentals

Every start comes filled with curiosity (and the best dancers know how to keep it alive).

Here is where you learn how Tango works in the body.

You’ll learn (and keep training if you aren’t new) the essential elements:
✨ Posture, balance, walking together to the music comfortably and stylished
✨ The embrace and partner communication in Tango Argentino
✨ Navigation on the dance floor
✨ Core patterns that form the base of every traditional step and sequence in Tango Argentino

From the beginning, the focus is on skills more than steps, so you can navigate the floor and dance with different partners from early on.

Turn knowledge into embodied skill

Learning a skill requires practice, especially when it comes to movement, but not all practice is equally helpful.

In the Tango Argentino scene, Prácticas often become just informal dancing or “Milongas for beginners”.
(Milonga is the name for Tango Argentino socials)

We work consistently to keep our Focused Práctica an integration training space.
It’s not a Milonga or a class. It’s a shared practice space, held with care and respect.

These practice sessions offer:
✨ Space to repeat and integrate what you learn in class, both individually and with dance partners
✨ Guided exercises
✨ Feedback to refine your dance

This is where many dancers experience their biggest breakthroughs and build confidence.

Grow your Tango

This course is for dancers with previous experience, who want to make their dance work consistently, while expanding their Tango repertoire.

We focus on:
✨ Refining fundamentals in more complex situations
✨ Improving transitions and flow
✨ Developing musicality and adaptability
✨ Cleaning up your technique to avoid limiting habits
✨ Exploring intermediate and advanced techniques and sequences

The goal isn’t to perform half-good “fancy figures” for their own sake, and rather to make your dance reliable, expressive, and aware of what movements make sense, with whom and when.

Deepen your Tango

By now, you’re familiar with the incredible potential of Tango Argentino as a lifelong learning journey.

You can delve as deeply as you wish and embrace your passion for Tango to fully experience this dance.

For that goal, a space to study Tango Argentino in depth awaits you at our monthly Tango Immersion Weekends, and special editions with guest teachers from Argentina, to explore specific topics in detail.

These programs combine themed workshops, practice sessions, and social dancing, creating a more immersive learning experience, helping you expand your skills and deepen your knowledge in an intensive weekend setting.

This format is also beneficial for dancers who live far away and cannot join us on a weekly basis, giving them material to take home and practice with their dance communities.

Private lessons are the perfect way to enhance your dance at your own pace and schedule, and a great complement to group classes to speed up your learning.

For dancers who are curious about how movement and learning works in the mind and body, the Tango & Movement Pedagogical Path offers a deeper exploration: This program studies body mechanics and movement organization, perception and partner communication, and pedagogical strategies for movement learning.

Enjoy your Tango

This is where the pieces come together and Tango becomes real.

Tango Argentino lives in the Milonga, the social dance space where dancers meet, enjoy the music, share the floor, and create nice memories together.

Milonga Itinerante is our welcoming social tango evening, bringing together dancers from different backgrounds and levels, and helping newcomers to integrate with ease.

Itinerante means it takes place at varied locations, keeping each edition fresh, alive and unique. Always welcoming and easy-going wherever we are.

You’re warmly invited to experience the living culture of Tango as I learned it in Buenos Aires, helping you discover that the Milonga is a place not only to dance but to build friendships and community.

FAQ

It's an anchor to your weekly Tango rhythm, designed for dancers who want to progress with continuity.

It helps you build a consistent weekly rhythm of learning, practice and social dancing, giving you access to the Tango Basics (both Wednesday and Sunday), Grow your Tango, and Focused Prácticas.

No. Many participants join solo. We rotate partners during the class, which is an essential part of learning how to adapt and communicate in Tango Argentino.

No. The Tango Basics Course on Wednesdays and/or Sundays will help you build strong foundations for your tango journey.

Our tango journey is designed to help you work on your dance skills through different layers at a time, and the Tango Learning Pass supports you on that goal.

The Tango Basics help you keep your fundamentals sharp, and fixing any root issues if you already know the basics but some things don't always work.

Grow your Tango and the Tango Immersion Program offer mixed-level material that we'll always adjust to your level, so you can grow your dance sustainably.

If you're unsure, you can always reach out and I'll help you find the best fit. Or just start where it resonates now and adjust as needed. The structure is designed to support different stages of learning and you'll always get guidance.

Tango Argentino isn't something you "finish" after X number of classes. It’s a practice you develop over time.

Anyone can learn Tango, each at their own pace.

Most dancers start feeling their progress after a few weeks and developing confidence in social dancing after a few months of consistent classes and practice.

Beginners that start from zero and attend regularly the Wednesday and Sunday Tango Basics classes are usually ready to join Grow your Tango after 1-3 months, even sooner if already familiar with movement and body awareness.

Consistency helps, but flexibility is built into the system.

You can combine different classes and Prácticas to maintain your learning rhythm. Sessions typically include a brief recap of the previous one, and the Focused Prácticas are the ideal space to catch up and make sure you learn the contents with proper guidance.

Yes, but always with context and purpose.

The goal is not to accumulate figures, but to understand how to use them in a way that works with different partners and music.

Instead of focusing on memorizing steps, we build them on the principles that make your dance functional: body awareness, embodied understanding, musicality, and improvisation — skills that support social dancing, connection and personal expression rather than memorized material. Therefore you might not notice how many steps you're learning if you don't keep track. You'll get guidance on how to do the homework 😉

Your membership is billed on a monthly basis (every 4 weeks) and you can opt for SEPA Direct Debits for your convenience.

Your monthly rate is secured when you join. As long as your subscription remains active, you keep that price — even if prices change in the future.

If you interrupt your subscription, you can rejoin anytime at the current rate.

Your learning rhythm is meant to support your life, not add pressure. You can pause your Tango Learning Pass when needed (giving notice up to 5 days before your following payment date) and rejoin anytime. And private lessons are always an option to catch up if life happens and you want to keep your Pass active.

Everyone can learn tango, each at their own speed.

How soon you'd like to feel comfortable in your body and with your dance is your parameter to decide how much it is worth committing for you.

Tango is like learning a language: the more often and regularly you study and practice, the fastest you become fluent.

I support you with several sessions of guided practice, more than 2 classes per week, and a Tango Learning Pass that gives you easy and affordable access to all of them. A welcoming community that values depth, exploration and collective growth supports you as well.

This isn’t just a class schedule. It’s a full learning ecosystem that helps you get on the dance floor sooner than later. You're welcome to drop in if you have no hurry. Tango starts making sense with continuity. You set your pace.

No. Dance shoes or special clothes aren't required. Nevertheless, to support your body's health, some shoes are more convenient than others to dance Tango. You can find guidance here, and reach out to me for recommendations if you're considering buying dance shoes.

They are practice sessions where we give your body time to repeat, explore, absorb and transform what you learn in class, allowing you to really own every move and saving you time in the long run. You can see them as a training lab that supports your Tango learning.

Repetition builds body memory, and guidance makes sure you're repeating the right thing. They also ensure group coherence week to week, since those who miss a class can use the Focused Práctica to catch up, and those who only attend the Tango Immersion Weekends can stay attuned.

While not mandatory, the Focused Prácticas play a crucial role in how the work matures over time. They're an open space for mindful practice, where dancers from the wider community are welcome to join regardless of where they learn, so you get to interact and practice with people beyond classmates too.

Consistency matters more than intensity.

Dancers who combine weekly classes, guided practice and social dancing tend to progress faster and feel more confident. The Tango Learning Pass supports you on this. Some combine the group setting with private lessons to speed up their process even more, benefiting from professional 1-on-1 work.

    What my students say

    (swipe to read more)

"The class with Jessica went by waaaay too quickly because we had so much fun, and got to work on our dancing a lot. During the class she gave us the tools to go out and social dance at a milonga, which we did the same night! She focused on the connection in the dance couple, and explained how the social dancing works. She made us feel free to experiment and improvise, which is within the spirit of the dance itself. She was great at explaining, and had good answers to all our questions. This is perfect for anyone who wants to learn and gain the confidence to go out social dancing!"

    Caroline Oslo, Norway

"My husband and I signed up with Jessica as a favor to our son, who had taken a lesson with her and wanted us to step outside our comfort zone. We're not dancers. Never have been, but Jessica's approach was so easy and friendly, we left feeling there was hope for us to learn a new activity. Thanks, Jessica! Our hour lesson was fun and worthwhile -- we now understand why so many people love tango!"

    Karen Arizona, USA

"More and better than expected. I have never been a dancer but within minutes we were gliding around the space. Jessica explained, then demonstrated, the almost imperceptible ways of communicating movement and direction. I was so impressed that I contacted Jessica about another lesson. Buenos Aires is so amazing that I didn’t really need another reason to return but Jessica gave me one anyway."

    Kevin Kansas, USA

"Jessica is a wonderful teacher. I had a big increase in my anxiety during the lesson (old habits) but Jessica handled my needs wonderfully and got me back to normal very quickly. She had a mixed group of dancers and did a great job personalizing the lesson for everyone. She took good care of us and provided a wonderful experience for everyone. I would definitely recommend Jessica for anyone who wants to explore what tango is really like."

    Jennifer New York, USA

"My wife and I have wanted to dance tango in Buenos Aires for quite a long time. We have taken a visit to a classical milonga and after seeing the ritual attending the event and the packed dance floor of experienced dancers we wondered if we’d ever be able to gain enough mastery and courage to achieve our goal. Jessica is a talented and sensitive instructor who works with you to find the kind of experience you are seeking. For us it was finding a milonga that was comfortable, welcoming and accepting of beginners. We began with an hour long lesson to give you some helpful strategies for handling the dancing. We then left the studio for a milonga that had all the qualities we sought, including live music. The evening went perfectly and we’ve now accomplished our goal. Jessica was always present to guide us as to what to do. She has a passion for the dance and its culture which is contagious and inspiring. It was a magical evening for us!"
