Our Tango Argentino Basics program is an invitation to start your tango journey with solid foundations, clarity and trust in your process. And to gain more depth and freedom if you already dance.

Join us to explore and train the essentials of Tango Argentino from a mindful, embodied approach. Focusing not only on what to do, but on how and why we move the way we do in this dance.

The Tango Basics lessons are ideal for you if:
◆ You’re a beginner in Tango Argentino.
◆ You’re returning to tango after a pause.
◆ You already dance and understand the importance of continuous improvement of your foundations.
◆ You’re looking for a thoughtful, body-aware approach to Tango Argentino within a friendly community.
◆ You appreciate a safe space for questions, mistakes, and exploration.

You’ll learn:
◆ Healthy posture and body organization.
◆ Musicality and navigation on the dance floor.
◆ How to move with another person comfortably and clearly.
◆ Key patterns from which all classic figures in tango are born.
◆ The foundations of social dancing, and building confidence in your movements.

No previous experience required, just curiosity to work with essential principles that allow you to understand the Tango Argentino language sooner, and adapt easier to real social dance situations.

If you aren’t a beginner anymore, revisiting the basics helps you to:
◆ Focus on elements you might have overlooked when learning everything for the first time.
◆ Refine technique and efficiency of your movements.
◆ Clarify concepts you may already “know” but not fully embody yet.
◆ Expand improvisation, musicality, and partner dialogue.

You can join with or without a dance partner, and learn the role(s) of your choice. Jessica encourages learning both.

What are the Tango Argentino Basics?

In every dance, there are essential moves that never go away. They are present on every sequence or popular step. Advanced dancers still use them, just layering styling, timing changes, dynamics and variations on top.

When you try learning a language by memorizing sentences out of context and without breaking them down, they don’t really serve you in a conversation. Same happens with learning Tango Argentino by copying steps and going onto the dance floor just with that.

Everything you see in a Tango Argentino social dance floor or show is made of these essential moves.
What people see in the surface are the optional add-ons each couple chooses to include in their dance.
Something less obvious is that none of them can happen without the foundations that sustain them.

The Tango Argentino Basics are those core movements and techniques that sustain every other move in this dance.

Once you know them well enough, you can get through songs without feeling lost, you can learn new and more complex patterns quicker and easier and do them properly, and have much more freedom to work on styling and creativity in your dance.

Here you’ll learn them in an embodied way, which means understanding rather than just copying and mechanically repeating a choreo, understanding movement not only intellectually but in your body, which is what you actually need to dance confidently with any person and in any room.

And no, this isn’t only for beginners. The best dancers know it’s possible to dive deeper and deeper every time they train their basics, so they do, refining and discovering new angles of “the same” things each time they study them.

New beginners that approach the dance with this open mind from the start save years of future frustrations of having to unlearn unhelpful patterns to finally start building freedom in their dance, and choose to do it from day 1.

Start your Tango journey

Join one or both of our Tango Basics groups to build your tango skills from the ground up.

Wednesdays at 19:00 (except May 6)

Sundays at 19:00 (except during Tango Immersion Weekends)

Both Wednesday and Sunday courses follow a sequence of contents to develop and deepen the Tango essentials at a shared group pace. We focus on building strong fundamentals and growing through them, rather than just checking them off the list.

Each class adapts to the group and uses layered exercises, so that everyone can progress from where they are.

If it’s your first time, you’ll get basic instructions on how to move together with a dance partner and navigate the dance floor.

Those who’ve attended previous classes continue to learn and train musicality, ease and quality of movement individually and with dance partners, as well as key patterns that form the traditional Tango Argentino sequences and techniques, always from an approach of understanding and embodying the movements rather than just copying and memorizing steps.

Both Tango Basics courses encourage integration of what you learn in class through Focused Prácticas. These are guided practice sessions for you to socialize and ask questions, receive feedback, and practice in a relaxed and supportive environment. They aren’t a class, therefore you regulate your own practice pace and can leave earlier if your agenda requires it.

The Focused Prácticas take place after every Sunday Tango Basics lesson, once a month on Saturday during the Tango Immersion Weekends, and within the new Wednesday schedule they’ll take place every few classes too (dates will be confirmed as the group advances in the program).

Does it make sense to attend both days?

Absolutely. Tango is like learning a language: the more hours you dedicate to study, the faster you become fluent. Wednesday and Sunday session aren’t identical, so the more you learn by attending both days, which can speed up your progress.

The Tango Learning Pass supports you for this goal, giving you flexible access to both Wednesdays and Sundays Tango Basics courses and the Focused Prácticas.

FAQ

It's an anchor to your weekly Tango rhythm, designed for dancers who want to progress with continuity.

The Tango Learning Pass helps you build a consistent weekly rhythm of learning, practice and social dancing, giving you access to both Wednesday and Sunday courses and Focused Prácticas.

No. Many participants come solo. We rotate partners during the class, which is an essential part of learning how to adapt and communicate in Tango Argentino.

No. These classes will help you learn from zero.

The contents of each class are adapted to the participants' level, so if you already have experience you'll get instructions connected to what you already know, and if it's your first time you'll be guided through your first moves.

Our tango journey is designed to help you work on your dance skills through different layers at a time, and the Tango Learning Pass supports you on that goal.

The Tango Basics help you keep your fundamentals sharp, and fixing any root issues if you already know the basics but some things don't always work.

Grow your Tango and the Tango Immersion Program offer mixed-level material that we'll always adjust to your level, so you can grow your dance sustainably.

If you're unsure, you can always reach out and I'll help you find the best fit. Or just start here and adjust as needed. The structure is designed to support different stages of learning and you'll always get guidance.

Tango Argentino isn't something you "finish" after X number of classes. It’s a practice you develop over time.

Anyone can learn Tango, each at their own pace.

Most dancers start feeling their progress after a few weeks and developing confidence in social dancing after a few months of consistent classes and practice.

Beginners that start from zero and attend regularly the Wednesday and Sunday Tango Basics classes and Focused Prácticas are usually ready to join the next level after 1-3 months.

Consistency helps, but flexibility is built into the system.

You can combine different classes and Prácticas to maintain your learning rhythm. Sessions typically include a brief recap of the previous one, and the Prácticas are the ideal space to catch up and make sure you learn the contents with proper guidance.

Yes, but always with context and purpose.

The goal is not to accumulate half-good figures, but to understand how to use them in a way that works with different partners and the music on the dance floor.

Instead of focusing on memorizing sequences, we work on the principles that make your dance functional: body awareness, embodied understanding, musicality, and improvisation — skills that support social dancing, connection and personal expression rather than memorized material. You might not notice at first how many steps you're learning if you don't keep track, but no worries, you'll get guidance on how to do the homework 😉

Your membership is billed on a monthly basis, and you can opt for SEPA Direct Debits for your convenience.

Your monthly rate is secured when you join. As long as your subscription remains active, you keep that price — even if prices change in the future.

If you interrupt your subscription, you can rejoin anytime at the current rate.

Your learning rhythm is meant to support your life, not add pressure. You can pause your Tango Learning Pass when needed (giving notice up to 5 days before your next payment) and rejoin anytime. And private lessons are always an option to catch up if life happens and you want to keep your subscription active.

Everyone can learn tango, each at their own speed.

How soon you'd like to feel comfortable in your body and with your dance is your parameter to decide how much it is worth committing for you.

Tango is like learning a language: the more often and regularly you study and practice, the fastest you become fluent.

I support you with several sessions of guided practice, more than 2 classes per week, and a Tango Learning Pass that gives you easy and affordable access to all of them. A welcoming community that values depth, exploration and collective growth supports you as well.

This isn’t just a class schedule. It’s a full learning ecosystem that helps you get on the dance floor sooner than later. You're welcome to drop in if you have no hurry. Tango starts making sense with continuity. You choose your pace.

No. Dance shoes or special clothes aren't required. Nevertheless, some shoes support your body's health better when dancing Tango. Find some guidance here, and reach out to me for recommendations if you're considering buying dance shoes.

They are practice sessions where we give your body time to repeat, explore, absorb and transform what you learn in class, allowing you to really own every move and saving you time in the long run. You can see them as a training lab that supports your Tango learning.

They play a crucial role in how the work matures over time, since repetition builds body memory and guidance makes sure you're repeating the right thing. They also help you integrate in our dance community and ensure group coherence week to week, since those who miss a class can use the Focused Práctica to catch up, and those who only attend the Tango Immersion Weekends can stay attuned.

They're an open space for mindful practice, where dancers from the worldwide Tango community are welcome to join regardless of where they learn, so you also get to interact and practice with different people beyond classmates.

Consistency matters more than intensity.

Dancers who combine weekly classes, guided practice and social dancing tend to progress faster and feel more confident. The Tango Learning Pass supports you on this. Some combine the group setting with private lessons to speed up their process even more, benefiting from professional personalized feedback.
