This weekend is your opportunity to start understanding the foundations that make Tango Argentino work.
Explore how to organize your body, transfer weight, move together with a dance partner, and begin connecting the essential movements of Tango Argentino. Then enjoy your first Practilonga, a relaxed social dance to try everything you learned.
No previous tango experience needed. No dance partner required.
17:00-18:30 · Part I: Body organization, walking and navigation
Before we learn figures, we need to understand how we move.
In this part, you’ll begin to understand how two people coordinate their movement, navigate the space and move together without losing their own balance.
19:00-20:30 · Part II: Crossing Paths
Tango Argentino isn’t a collection of disconnected steps but a full language system that supports improvisation on the dance floor.
From a recap of Part I, we’ll begin connecting the walk with classic elements of Tango Argentino: the Cross and Ochos, into a simple, adaptable tango vocabulary.
We’ll explore these elements breaking down how they work for both roles, and how they relate to the movements you’ve already learned, so you get tools for improvisation from day 1.
18:00-19:00 · Tango Essentials
You’ll continue building on Saturday’s work, deepening your understanding of Ochos and the different ways they can be accompanied, while getting a glimpse of our regular Sunday sessions, where we refine the fundamentals with a focus on clarity, connection and adaptability.
19:00-22:00 · Practilonga
Your first social dance, a chance to ask questions and begin connecting the dots.
We’ll introduce some of the essential codes of the Milonga (that’s how we call the Tango Argentino socials), explore navigation and put our learning into practice while socializing and having fun together.

No. Many participants come solo and you can learn both roles. We rotate partners during the class, which is an essential part of learning how to adapt and communicate in Tango Argentino.
No. If you have danced before, you'll still gain clarity and new tools.
The weekend is built as one program, so you'll get the best by joining both days.
If your schedules don't allow, contact Jessica to guide you on your specific case.
The Practilonga is also open for participants with previous experience that don't attend the workshops (simply drop-in).
You can request a full refund until Nov 14. After that date, what you paid works as credit towards a later course (redeemable within 6 months).
You will have the basics to dance in a relaxed setting. Most milongas become comfortable with regular practice.
Yes. After this Foundations Weekend, you'll be able to join the ongoing Wednesdays group from Nov 25.
No. Dance shoes or special clothes aren't required. Nevertheless, comfortable shoes with soft soles support your body's health better when dancing Tango. Find more specific guidance here, and reach out to me for recommendations if you're considering buying dance shoes.
Prácticas, as their name suggest, are spaces to practice, experiment, ask questions and receive guidance. You can pause, repeat movements and explore at your own pace.
A Milonga is where people meet for social Tango Argentino dance. You come to enjoy the music, dance with different partners and share the floor, following the codes of the milonga.
In the real world, you'll often find Prácticas that function as a Milonga and wonder what's different beyond the name. That's why we named ours Focused Práctica and make sure it remains a space to practice, share and receive advice.
A Practilonga combines both: a social dance environment with a more relaxed, learning-oriented atmosphere. It may include a short guided introduction (as in our case) or opportunities to ask questions, while leaving plenty of time for social dancing.
In short: Práctica is for practicing and sharing/receiving feedback, Milonga is for social dancing (no teaching, no feedback on the floor), and Practilonga is where the two meet.
